When I was looking on eBay tonight for a Braves Starter dugout jacket, I noticed that there was an authentic game used Braves undershirt worn by Yunel Escobar that was super-cheap. I made my move with 3 minutes left in the auction. The bid was still super-low, $1.99. So, I made by highest bid $3.00. Then, with 2 (count 'em 2) seconds left in the auction, I got beat with a bid for $3.25.

Thankfully, I'm not feeling bad about this auction. But, it would have been cool to have. Now, if only I can get that jacket. :rolleyes:

Yep, even when bidding late, you have to get your max bid in there. Don't let a lack of activity fool you into thinking you don't need to put in a serious bid. That way if you get beat, you can at least say "That's more than I was willing to pay."

Well, it was very late at night, so I probably wasn't thinking entirely straight then. But, lesson learned.

also, ebay only shows the winning bid as the lowest necessary in order to win, so that winning bid could easily have been for more than 3.25...if that consoles you at all. ;)

Yeah, I already knew that. It was just a shock getting beat out that close to the end.
