Roberto Alomar Game Used Batting Helmet

"This ABC Batting helmet was used by Alomar during the 1990 season. The helmet shows great use and is likely the only one he wore during that season. The front of the helmet has several dings and scratches. There are also some small spots of pinetar. The back of the helmet has Alomar's jersey number of 12 on the back. The inside of the helmet has heavy sweet and dirt stains. This is a great vintage item from on of the games all time best second baseman."

alomar didn't play for the jays in 1990. he spent the entire season with the padres. alomar made his first appearance for the jays in 1991. in 1990, kenny williams wore #12 and hit .194 with 14 hits.

lampson didn't even bother checking a roster.

oh and the number stickers on the back are the wrong style. it's likely not even a kenny williams helmet but probably just a jays minor league helmet.

Also, the Alomar "game used batting gloves" are questionable. Robbie always wore Cooper gloves when he plyed with the Blue Jays, often with his facsimile signature across the wrist band.

i almost fell off my chair when i saw those. judging by the specific rawlings style, i'm assuming they're supposed to be from alomar's final year or two with the jays. as you say, alomar was a cooper man when he came on board with the jays. those crazy neon green and blue ones with his signature on the strap. he wore those for most of his tenure with the jays and in 1995, his final year with the jays, he switched to reebok, including his cleats. even after he left the jays, he carried his reebok gloves and cleats on over to the O's. however, the gloves are blue and white and they do have a #12 stitched in so they must be alomars.

what is the number font supposed to look like on the helmet? i am in touch with them and want to give them correct info.

the number font (stickers) on the back of the jays helmets were exact reproductions of the numbers on their jerseys. see this thread for more info:
