Is there any place to go and find out who is credited for which model numbers?

I know the C271 was made for Jose Cardenas but I would like to look at the list if there is one available as I have always been curious to see who created what.

And if anyone knows who the S318 model was originally designed for I would like to know please

Thanks

The C271 was actually turned for Jose Cardenal, not (Leo) Cardinas.

Vince Malta's book on LS bats has a partial list on page 51. If you don't own that book, you should consider it. I think you can still buy it through Game Used Universe.

I don't know who ordered the first S318. I'm sure BMH will know when he sees your post. There is no comprehensive list that I know of, but I'd bet BMH is working on one.

Baseball fever has similar posts and bmh posted there. It's weird reading some of these threads. Kinda like being in the bizarro world from that episode of Seinfeld :D

S318 is Reggie Smith according to the info in this thread.

Nice Find

One more for me,

Anyone know who did the C331?

I have a pro stock of this model for my own personal use and I love it because of the larger knob.

Just curious because it is probably my favorite model

I made the C331 for Carl Crawford, it was the second bat I made. Now get this...it's a C271 with a C332 knob. Figure that one out;)

From what I can tell I've got one of the most complete lists for models there is but it still has lots of holes. Why we don't publish...I don't know, it's something we've never done.

Oh and if you have a few hours to waste...

Hi Brian,

How are you? Did you see John Fogerty's LVS model guitar at the HOF ceremonies? I thought it was cool.

Just curious if you know offhand what at the most popular bat models used by current MLB players. Hopefully you can share with us the top 1 to 5 models currently ordered.

Also, who was the first player to use the C271 and P72 Models.

Thanks in advance.

Joel

One interesting note on the C271. It was first manufactured for Cardenal off of a bat he sent in from Japan, presumably a Japanese manufactured bat. Documented date of the 'new model' C271 is 5/10/1972.
