In looking around at bats on-line I noticed two different style Rawlings Adirondack model bats attributed to Darryl Strawberry from the 1990 season.

Did Adirondack change styles sometime during the 1990 season or did they always offer different styles? I'm no expert by any means but it just seems strange that they would have two almost completely different style bats in the same season. Here go the links:

I would check with Art Jaffe of LFC and ask him what is stamped on the knob of his Strawberry bat. I've never seen a 89 style labeling on a 1990 bat. I own 1986 stamped bats with the new 87 labeling as Rawlings did change to the 87-89 labeling late in the 86 season.

If Art's Straw bat is stamped with a year digit of "9" verses "90" then it's a 1989 bat which would be consistent with the labeling.

The bat from Mr JT is the correct labeling for a 1990-1997 Rawlings bat. The bat that LFC (Art) has is a correct Labaling for an 1987-1989 Rawlings bat. I'm sure Art probally just mislable the year on his site. If you need some detail on how to spot a 1987-89 or 1990-97 labaling drop me an email and I'll be glad to post or send you an email. I'd do it know but typing on my iPhone is a little tough. Take care
