Jetersbatboy,
Your bat is beat to hell. But are the chip marks from his cleats. I know he hits his bats on his cleats alot.

I think the marks are from him bang the bat on his cleats, but I'm not a 100%, but I really cant think of it being from anything else.
Thanks for the Complement it is pretty beat:D .

they may not be from his cleats arod was a maniac when he struck out he would go in the tunnell and slam his bats against the bat rack and throw a fit inside the tunnell that is at least my personal experience with arod i would always have to clean up some sort of mess he made

orioles03,
You could be correct, I pulled out my bat and it looks like the marks could be from being hit on the edge of something. If they are cleat marks he would have to be pounding it against his cleats!!!

in the home and visitors tunnels at camden yards we went through at least 4 bat racks a year after the all star break the grounds crew got tired of replacing the rack they started putting metal at the top of the rack it lasted alot longer

From the metal cleats. If you have watched Arod at bat you will notice him knock the dirt out of his cleats. You will usually see the cleat marks underneath the signature and team branding. I have had numerous Arod bats and they all have had numerous deep cleat marks. It is a perfect Arod use characteristic I wouldnt want a Arod bat with out them. Here is my 2004 that is pounded with use and cleat marks.

Rboitano,
You maybe correct, but looking at the marks on the couple I own it looks like he would be having to just be stomping on this bat to get cleat marks this deep, its almost 3/16 deep and 9/16 long. Well if it is cleat marks or from hitting the bat racks it still looks great. thanks of explanation Scott

I guess based on all of your comments, this is common on Arod bats.

Many thanks to all!
