Does anybody know if there are pre-'50 Musial index bats? There's a bat on eBay now that looks like a perfect M117 1940s contract model, but the seller insists it's 35" long (actually a bit longer). Musial's records show no 35" orders of M117 until 1952. In fact, except for a 34" order in 1947, Stan ordered nothing but 34.5" bats throughout the era. Does that mean this likely is an index bat?

The guys saying its a little longer than 35 inches, so i would bet thats its a team index bat. The writing on the knob kinda hurts it also.

I got a kick out of the questions the seller posted. One guy offers $75 and one guy offers $850. My hats off to the seller who is letting the auction run its course.

What are musial index bats worth, even though i think people are going to pay musial game used money.

People need to do research before bidding on items. I bet it is going to end around $1,700.

Exactly! If you dont know or arent sure, then just ask!! To spend that much money on an item, you need to do a lot of research and not assume anything!
