Maybe a Mays or Giants/Mets fan can help me here.

The LOA says that it is an autographed game used glove. Does it say that the glove was used by MAYS? Is this a situation where careful wording could lead to problems down the road for a collector?

Correction. The PSA LOA says "Willie Mays Game Used Batting Glove".

I was suprised at the number of photos on gettyimages of Mays. I found exactly one photo of him wearing batting gloves, and they were not the style shown. Even in an old timers game he did not wear batting gloves. Not sure what to make of these.

Well, I found one more photo of him wearing batting gloves on gettyimages, and it is not conclusive as to what type it may be.

Maybe I am reading this incorrectly, but it leads me to believe that this glove is too new for it to be a "Game Used" glove. Old timers? Maybe. But definitely too new for his playing days. I can tell that just from the pics.

"The true leadership of Franklin Sports ® emerged in the early 80's when our first professional grade batting gloves appeared in ballparks across the country and on the hands of the finest players in Major League Baseball®"

I didn't think PSA/DNA would write a letter for the game use of an item such as batting gloves. I would expect from my past work with PSA/DNA that the letter would certify the autograph only. Even if the letter states the gloves to be game used, please read carefully as I do not believe they would certify the game use, but I could be mistaken.

Only thing I found. Those gloves are just too new.

Hi Joel, I think you're correct. PSA usually just authenticates the sig, not the use. I think what I dont understand is the seller is saying "
