Can anyone tell me how often minor league teams order weird-length pro model bats? A lot of minor league teams order these bats without anybody's name on them so that everyone can use them, but I always figured that they'd be common lengths and weights for that very reason.

But I was measuring a pro model c243 from a White Sox minor league team and it was 33 3/16" long. It just seems weird to me to order a bat of that strange length and then make it a 'team' bat.

I think you're putting too much effort into the whole length thing...All models are ordered by 1/2's. I know the one you have is "3/16" but it wasn't meant to be, it probably should just be a 33in bat. We make almost 4000 bats a day, I would chalk it up to production variance.

Thanks for the explanation. Do you ever make finer-lengthed bats for the top pro players? I recalled this bat that Tim Byington has available that's measured at 34.125" for Jeff Kent:

...or is that also just production variation?

Pretty much.
