Rudy,

Thanks for sharing.

Somehow I didn't shed a tear watching this jersey getting carved up. It's taking a one of a kind Ruth or Gehrig jersey and using a pizza cutter on one of those that is the real shame.

I find it upsetting, because these jerseys should be left whole. I wish we could educate people on where to find actual game-used memorabilia, so they don't have to settle with worthless scraps.

This honestly makes me want to sell my game-used cards.

The sad and really crazy thing about these game used memorabilia cards is the prices they go for. Plus, who really knows they are game used anyway.

tragic

Yes it is. Whether a game used superstar jersey or a common player game used jersey, it's tragic!

I see no tragedy with modern day player's equipment(especially jerseys) being cut up and used in cards. I'm sure A-Rod and other stars are more than happy to sell game used jerseys to the card companies. They'll just wear a new one in next game(and look to sell that one also). Many players are willing to supply the demand.

Tony,

Not a knock on Arod but any post 1990 jersey the cards companies decided to cut up. With the amount of jerseys players wear these days the card companies actually may be doing real collectors a favor by chopping some up to make the number of intact jerseys scarcer.
