The yes network has just reported that Bobby Murcer has passed away from his brain tumor. He was a great player and a great person off the field.

It's truly a sad day for Yankees fans. Bobby was one of the most beloved Yankee players of all time. He was my idol as a youngster growing up in New York and he will be missed by all fans and especially his colleagues, former players, family, friends, etc. He was an unbelievable human being and a great ballplayer.

Bobby - we'll miss you.........

When I did watch occasional Yankee telecasts it was alway a pleasure to listen to Bobby Murcer's color commentary. He was not only a great part of Yankee baseball history but a great part of New York broadcasting history.
