Hello,

I am looking to find the order records for Cesar Geronimo, in particular during the 1969 to 1971 era when he was with the Astros. The model I have is a U1. The # on the knob is 20, so I have narrowed it down to 1970 or 1971.

Thanks,

Hi Chris - Geronimo only ordered U1 bats during the 71 and 72 seasons. Here are his orders ( FB meaning Flame Burned ):

3-18-71 ( 35" - 33 ounce - FB ) 12 bats
5-24-71 ( 34.5" - 32.5 ounces - FB ) 12 bats
6-16-71 ( 34.5" - 32.5 ounces - FB ) 12 bats
7-30-71 ( 34.5" - 32 ounces - FB ) 6 bats
8-13-71 ( 34.5" - 32 ounces - FB ) 6 bats
10-19-71 ( 34.5" - 32 ounces - FB ) 18 bats
2-1-72 ( 34.5" - 32 ounces - FB ) 12 bats
3-15-72 ( 35" - 32.5 ounces - FB ) 12 bats
4-5-72 ( 35" - 32.5 ounces - FB ) 12 bats

There is a notation in the records on March 27, 1972 that reads " Do Not F Burn till Notice" and then a notation on 4-26-72 that reads "Per Order FB". I guess he changed his mind after the order on 3-15-72 indicated above and decided to use Flame Burned bats, as his next order on 4-5-72 for the U1 bats listed above and on 4-28-72, 8-1-71 and 9-5-72 all for G105 bats listed in the records were Flame Burned.

THERE IS ONE LAST ORDER FOR U1 BATS in 1972 on 10-13-72 ( 35" - 35.5 ounces - Natural ) 24 bats.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance! Jim Caravello

Did he use a G105 during the 73 to 75 period? If so, what was the weight and lenght of those bats?

Hi Scott--

During the 1973 - 1975 label period Geromino only ordered Model G105 bats from H & B. Dimensions were 34"/32 oz (4 orders totaling 72 bats 1974 only) and 34.5"/32, 32.5, 33 oz. (totaling approximately 264 bats.)
All of his bats of the period were Flame Treated Finish.

Good Luck
