In building a team specific research resource librbary, each year in the past, we would typically add the annual highlight film via retail purchase. The last that we were able to find (via retail) was from the 2003 season, which was issued on DVD rather than VHS, as had been the standard in the past. I may have missed the news, but such highlight films have have now seemed to become non-exisatnt. Has NFL Films gotten out of the retail business for good?

These are indeed still available from NFL Films "Special Order Catalog", but at $50 a pop, rather than the $15-$20 typically paid for the annual retail issues.

Any insights?

Thanks!

It seems they no longer make them for retail. They do still send out complimentary copies to people but the hi-lites tapes are only shown on TV (ESPN and NFL Network). The only ones they seem to make available to the public are the Super Bowl Winners.

I am a Bucs collector and I have these Tam highlight videos

1976, 77, 87, 1984, 87, 88, 91,29,93,94,95,96,97,98,99,00,01,02,03,04,05 seasons

They are such a great research resource, I can do dubs on dvd for a very cheap price, they all cost over $15 a piece to obtain

I have a dozen or more NY Jets NFL Films but the most recent season is 2001. Like you, I have not been able to find more recent seasons for retail. However, with the amount of jerseys players are using every season, every jersey now being a Reebok with mostly identical traits, plus the general lack of use they are showing I would be more viewing them for entertainment than an actual resource. GO JETS!
