i have contacted the seller about it and they have answered nicely. according to their reply, it matches factory orders at 35" 33oz, but i still don't feel comfortable bidding on it. here is the listing. i would like some feedback from the experts on what you think. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110261780321 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110261780321&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123)

Ivan,

Looks good to me... the P89 also was Carter's bat of choice. Only reservation I would have is the lack of use on the bat. It might not have any... but I cannot tell with the photos in the listing.
I'd ask the seller for more photos if he's been nice thus far in replying to you. At best you have a light use autographed bat from Carter, which may be worth $300+; at worst, it is game issued, and still can be worth a good $200-250.

David (Metsbats) -- do you care to chime in with this one?

he told me that it has light but obvious use.

Sorry Guys I just saw this thread and the auction ended. The bat does not have typical Carter use characteristics. A well used Carter bat would have nice pine tar on the handle. Some Carter's have taped handles (criss cross). The 35" P89 was definitely the model Gary used for the majority of his career. His last year with the Expos he used shorter 34" C243s.

This bat went to $124 which was ok for an autographed game model bat which in my opinion what this was due to the lack of real use.
