Edumacate me please - Jerseys - Red Sox

So I am sorry I am so new at this but here goes...

I am a red sox fan and wouldn't mind picking up a few game worn jerseys of guys I grew up with (Rice, Evans, Hurst, Stanley, Boggs, etc.). Here is a Bruce Hurst jersey for sale on Ebay:

How in the world would I go about authenticating this. What am I looking for as far as tagging, etc.? Is there a guide out there (preferably free) that could get my started). Also, your opinions on this listing and what makes it legit or not are appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks Mike. I did see the tagging sticky... what else though? Surely tags are pretty easy to fake. Any way of determining game used vs issued etc.

Well, I'm no pro by any means but you have to look at a few things (called "doing your homework")

First look at the seller.

Second, look for proper tagging and wear.

To me, that Wilson tag looks like it matches the wear on the jersey but that 85 tag gives me bad vibes. It looks too new and doesn't match the wear on the Wilson tag. Hey, I could be wrong but that's just my opinion. Anybody else out there??? What do you think???
