Here is another fake Babe Ruth signed baseball with a doctored PSA/DNA letter.

1) The autograph is a terrible forgery.

2) When trying to verify the PSA cert number from 2004, this comes up on their website. "The selected PSA/DNA Certification Number C77088, was not found in the PSA/DNA Certification Database."

I know they are a little slow sometimes, but I'm fairly certain a letter from 2004 would have been entered in the database.

3) The photo on the letter was added by the seller. It is a lousy cut and paste job. As you can plainly see, it is just a cut version of the photo of the ball. You can still see the guy's fingers holding the ball.

4) Some thieves are just plain morons.

Sammy,

I'm certainly no expert on Babe Ruth's autograph, but I've seen enough to agree that it's a pretty bad forgery. It looks like someone slowly wrote his name........there's no steady flow to the signature at all.

But I got a good laugh at the "casing" that the seller included. If I had a Babe Ruth ball that I allegedly paid $10,000 for, I'd certainly want to upgrade the ball's holder from something that screamed "1997 Party Patrol"!!! Now that might be a true 1/1. :D

Well,

I called PSA this morning and spoke to a rep about this ball. Gave him the eBay auction number.

Kind of funny what he said when he looked at it, but the bottom line is the auction has now been terminated and another thief has been foiled.

For future reference, this is the eBay seller's name: dj_t_dogg69

Adios once again. :)
