That reminds me of a funny story that happened just after I moved to Va from NJ.

I was working an off duty job when I was a Deputy and a woman came over to me all upset. She wanted some guy arrested because she said that he "hit on her". I looked at her with that deer in the headlights look and laughed because I couldnt believe that she was serious.

It took about 10 minutes for me to realize that in Virginia, to "hit on" someone means that they were physically assaulted. In New Jersey, to "hit on" someone means that you are trying to pick them up for a "romantic encounter".

I'm still laughing.......
