robert, i don't mean to put you on the spot here but, despite not knowing a thing about football helmets or even having an interest in them, i find myself really enjoying reading your analysis' of them. i'm sure i'm not the only one. GFC's "summer games" have just opened up and they feature a number of helmets including some of the vintage, big-money variety that you seem to enjoy. any opinions thus far?

didn't spend much time there, have to run out for a couple of hours, but i really like what i saw. the dawson lid, imo, is the real deal - indeed his sb4 hat. everything the namath wasn't. if these are fakes, someone has moved the bar up as high as it could possibly go. hope i don't embarrass myself by jumping the gun, i'll know more when i get a chance to take a closer look later today. but, i have to say, the lids look great....
