You may have already noticed, but I have become extremely frustrated with some exclusive dealers of game-used memorabilia. Last week, I expressed my ire over a Hunter Pence home white alternate gamer's being priced with a BIN of $5,000 on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/HUNTER-PENCE-GAME-USED-HOME-WHITE-HOUSTON-ASTROS-JERSEY_W0QQitemZ320176394350QQihZ011QQcategoryZ605 97QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQ_trksidZp1638.m118.l124 7QQcmdZViewItem. Another example is this David Wright pair of cleats posted on Locker Room Memorabilia's website: http://www.lrmemo.com/product_p/dw-gu-spike_blu-07-ath.htm. Or what gets me is that you can now own a David Wright g/u all-star game hat for over $2,000: http://www.lrmemo.com/product_p/dw-gu-hat-07as-ath.htm.

While I think game-used exclusive dealers allow for a lot of good stuff to get sold by reputable people, I am also concerned that these people so inflate prices as to take the ordinary collector out of the equation. Plus, I swear some of these athletes wear an item for 5 minutes during a game, take it off, and then sell it for thousands as "game-used." I just wish some of this stuff could be had for a reasonable price that was actually used for a decent amount of time by a decent player. The Pence jersey shows good use, but those David Wright cleats look brand new.

Thanks for reading this!
