Hi,
I own a Spalding mini-bat with BBC imprinted in gold in the centerbrand. on the barrell, it has the words Golden Jubillee May,?? 1883 May, ?? 1933 also imprinted in gold...I could not make out the dates on the ??. . On the knob, Ith has the Spalding brand trademark. The bat is a dark cherry color. IS IT SAFE TO ASSUME THAT THE BBC STANDS FOR BROOKLYN BASEBALL CLUB? AND HOW MUCH IS THIS BAT WORTH IN THE CURRENT MARKET? THE SELLER TOLD ME THAT THESE BATS WERE GIVEN ONLY TO EXECTUIVES AND PLAYERS AT THE TIME? IS THIS TRUE?

THANKS
GERALD

Could you post a photo of the bat? If is what you suspect, and the condition is nice, it have a very desireable piece. Without seeing it and the condition, it's difficult to value. I'll check some of my old auction catalogs for comperable pieces.

I will try and take a photo of it sometime this week. The dates at the end are faded but overall it's in good condition. I will measure the bat when I get home tonight.

Thanks
Gerald

Wow. Great Find On The Photo. That Is Exactly What I Have. I'm Surprised The Bat Was Only Sold For $45.

I've seen three of these bats in the past month, and one other a couple of months ago. One recently went unsold on Ebay at $40. The first one i saw sold for $87.

Looks like someone found a group of them.
