Hey all,
Any thoughts on this here first basebase mitt supposedly used by Mark? I have my doubts, doesnt show much use...Do you think the authenticators are legit?

I personally like the authenticators, MEARS, but that doesn't mean anything if they win a popularity contest or not. I believe Troy and Dave from MEARS try to authenticate to the best of their knowledge.

What are you talking about? The name on the glove is spelled correctly:

422

When it comes to gloves I wouldn't trust MEARS authentication as evidenced by their current blunder with Carew and possibly Billy Martin in Vintage auction, and their documented mistakes in the past including the 69' Seaver and the Dimaggio glove in the Halper auction. They also passed a Mizuno Jeter as game worn that i still can't find proof that he ever used in any game in Japan...They are great at jerseys and bats, but not gloves...
