I got the deal of a lifetime today at the Braves Clubhouse Store!!

Today I went to the Braves Clubhouse Store to see if there was anything new and I didn't see anything so I just drooled at the game used broken bats for awhile and noticed the on the price tag of Renteria, the $200 was crossed out and $10 was written in red :eek: . I look at the other broken bats and they all have the same price written........$10!! I look at the employee and I said "Are these prices serious? Are they really $10?" and he said "yep....I was surprised too when I first saw them....but go ahead and buy a few"...........and I went ahead and bought 3 of them. I got an Edgar Renteria game used broken bat, a Jared Saltamacchia game used broken bat, and a Scott Thorman game used broken bat. The total cost before the sale would've been $550 but I got all 3 for $30!!! There is still 2 more Thorman bats and a Matt Diaz broken bat for $10 each if anybody else wants to head down there and get them. They also marked down all of the non-broken/cracked bats to $50 (includes Orr,Prado,and a few other smaller-name players). I still can't believe I saved $520!!

Thanks again for the heads up!! I picked these up today on my lunch break!! A Mike Hampton bat, signed- they were asking $300- I got for $50
A Scott Thorman bat unsigned- asking $150- got for $50

They were asking way too much at first. I guess they weren't moving any of them, hopefully the prices will be much lower from now on. I did see a few GU batting Helmets for $100, and 2 GU signed Smoltz jersey's for $1200.

Mike Hampton signed for $50 seems like a nice deal to me, especially as an Astros fan.

In terms of the overpricing in the clubhouse store, have you guys tried talking to the manager? I know in Houston you can always save A LOT of money on the game used bats sold at Minute Maid by haggling with the manager.

They always have tons of helmets lying around, but most have the stickers taken off. There were though 2 Chris Woodward helmets with the numbers still on. The Smoltz jerseys have been there forever.......maybe someday they'll put those on sale for $10 a piece :rolleyes:
