I noticed this lon TV last year and now own four game used jersey's and all of them have the addition of a reinforced eyelet (below) that allows players to tie there shoulderpads to the jersey. Anyone know why they would do this? Do any other teams have this on there jersey's?

Thank You,

Jay

I have had Cowboy jerseys from 97 that had the hole and reinforced area. Every Cowboy jersey seems to be have this modifcation now.

I know the Panthers did tie the neck of some players jerseys to the pads in '98 for sure, maybe other years too. I have a couple and you can see it in pictures. They did not reinforce the area though. When the team sold the jerseys the holes were repaired.

Starting in '93 Kevin Greene actual tied his sleeves to two 1/4" holes that he drilled in his shoulder pads. He did have eyelets sewn in the jerseys sleeves.
