I have some 97-98 Texas Rangers Jersey's, all of which are tagged "Russell". These are the white home, and gray away jersey's..Need help in determining the brand of the rangers game used "98" blue mesh jersey's..
I have searched for photo's and found them wearing "Majestic" blue mesh jersey's, but was wondering if anyone on the forum has information, or knowledge of them wearing a blue mesh "Russell", in either spring or regular season play..

Thanks in advance

Gary

By chance do you have any '97 Bill Ripken (Rangers) items available? Thanks

Gary,

By "blue mesh jerseys" are you referring to their batting practice jerseys or
some sort of blue alternate game jersey?

Gary,

What you have are 1994-2000 era style batting practice jerseys with 1997-99 era style Russell tagging.
I believe that Russell made the BP jerseys for the Rangers during 1992-94. I'm not positive but I don't believe these were year-tagged.
For 1997 and 1998, I'm quite certain that the Rangers BP jerseys were made by Majestic. I don't believe these were year-tagged either.
If I had to guess what your jerseys were, I'd suggest that they might be salesman's samples.
If I were looking to acquire 1997/1998 Texas Rangers BP jerseys, I'd look for them to be Majestic.

See the 'Fernando Tatis 1998 BP' collage below.

Rudy..

I agree with you in every aspect..I also found them wearing Majestic..., This jersey has a faded out date stamp of "8-46-98,and I was unable to locate them wearing Russell Batting jersey's during that time perior..

Thanks again for all you help, very much appreciated...

Gary,

8-46-98? Tatis wore #4. Nobody on the 1998 Rangers wore #8.

Can you tell if a number on the back has been removed?

Rudy:

No, it doesn't appear that a number was removed...Checked the date stamp again, as it is very faded and hard to read the first number...It appears to be 8 or 9-46-98...I think the only way it could be a 4, is if the 4 is the square type, and different from the 4 in their "46"
