Ken Griffey Jr. Game Helmet?

Currently on Ebay is a "Game worn Griffey Jr. M's helmet with LOA".

First, I don't ever remember seeing the M's wear this style of helmet with dual #'s (reverse and also on the bill). As such, I reviewed photos on Getty and my M's yearbooks. I can't locate a single photo of Griffey, or ANY M's player wearing a helmet with dual #'s. I'm aware that some of the GUU readers are experts in photo searching. Can anyone produce a single photo of a M's player from 1993-1999 (Griffey's final season in Seattle) with such a batting helmet?

Also, the LOA is not dated! Nor does the helmet show an ounce of use!

As a side note, the seller indicates the manufacturing code reads 10/97 (October, 1997). As such, it limits the usage to either 1998 or 1999.

Any readers able to locate a photo from either season?

This is a tough one. I can verify though that it is Griffey's correct size, but the number on the front sure is confusing.

as i recall about 9-10 years ago these helmets were made for a griffey singing. the helmets were his correct size. all the dateing on the wheel was 10/97 .these helmets didnt have the mlb sticker on the back of the helmet.and all the helmets had the 2 and 8 in white on the back of the helmet. is it possible someone took the stickers off the back and reapplied them to the brim? i say yes

Did anyone notice that the seller added a picture of a Griffey helmet with the numbers on the front. What that the issue with this hlemt?

As asked for in my original post, the seller himself has indeed produced a photo from the 1998 season. The helmet is dated from 10/97, thus, it appears to check-out.

If you search GettyImages you will find two photos from June 14, 1998, that show the numbers on both the bill and the back. A photo from June 25, 1998 shows a helmet without the MLB logo.
